God tells us to flee and run from sin. So why watch Fifty Shades or read the books? God says clearly in the Bible, that sex with anyone other than your spouse is a sin, so sex before marriage is a sin! I know society is OK with this and the devil has so cleverly desensitized people and even you in believing it’s OK.
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. – 1 John 2:16
The Holy Bible warns of a great spirit war that will take place in the future and actually in the very near future. But notice this powerful statement, “So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” – Revelation 12:9.
Right here, the Bible explains to us that in this world and in this lifetime, people will be deceived. The devil and his minions are desperately trying to pull and keep souls from going to heaven and deception is just one way that he does this. With deception, comes desensitizing a nation. How does he numb people into believing that sin is alright? By doing this ever so slowly and over time. Think about how things use to be in previous decades and where we are now. Some call it a great thing to evolve so eloquently and sweetly to believe sinning is acceptable. It has happened and the enemy has accomplished much of this. Fifty Shades of Grey is a book series and movie that degrades women with violence and immorality. It not only degrades women, but shows men to be violent and disrespectful with no dignity toward women.
There are many women I have spoken with that don’t understand my point of view on this and feel I am being too “religious”. This has nothing to do with religion, but everything to do with a relationship with Jesus Christ and how God wants us to behave and live. Jesus would not want His followers to be a part of viewing or reading this sexually explicit movie. Once a person starts opening that door, then you become vulnerable to sin of this kind and get desensitized to it.
“Let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit.” (2 Corinthians 7:1)
Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. – Hebrews 13:4. –
I will be blunt here in remembering I only have God to impress and to make comfortable, but if you are a Christian, why are you reading the book or seeing the movie? What business does a believer have watching this extremely disrespectful movie? If you say you are a Christian and think it is OK to see this film, maybe you need to have a conversation with God about your heart.
Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. – 1 John 2:6
Ask yourself….do you really think Jesus would read this book or see the movie? Would Jesus say, “Ah, it’s JUST a movie, go see Fifty Shades of Grey and read the book”…..As HE bleeds to death on the cross.
Check yourselves Christians!
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. – Acts 5:29
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 – For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;
Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us. – 1 John 3:24
