Jealousy, a competitive spirit and envy are cunning and it can rip up relationships and create deeper rooted anger. It is easy for us to get wrapped up in what others are doing, so we need to stay grounded in Christ! Seeking Him and being obedient will be all that one needs when the darts are coming right toward you.
Sometimes, the ones those darts are coming from don’t even realize the envy fueling deep inside of them and all you can do is pray for God to show them its destructive power and come to a place of repentance and love.
To all of those in battle today, remember who sits on the throne and whoever truly seeks Him, has His protection. He may allow some pain to come with the arrows, but He will provide the ultimate shield for you. He wants to build you, teach you, protect you, show you and comfort you when it gets sharp, but He has His very best for you when others may not. God has your back, you need to seek, obey and love. Love them right where they are at.
James 3:16 – For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.
Galatians 5:26 – Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
James 4:1 – What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you?
James 4:7 – Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 – But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
Ephesians 6:10-18 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, …
Acts 5:29 – But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.
Exodus 23:22 – “But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.”
Do as Jesus commanded and love your enemies.
